SMART TRAFFIC SYSTEM Students: Nandkishor Kumar Singh, Aryan Bhaiya School : Kendriya Vidyalaya, Madhupur, Deoghar, Jharkhand Teacher : Mr. Anuj Kumar INTRODUCTION Fast transportation systems and rapid transit systems are nerves of economic system of developing countries like India .All developed nations have a well-developed transportation system with efficient traffic control on road, rail and air. It is therefore utmost necessity to have a fast, economical and efficient traffic control system for national development. The monitoring and control of city traffic is becoming a major problem in our countries. With the ever increasing number of vehicles on the road, the Traffic Monitoring Authority has to find new methods of overcoming such a problem. One way to improve traffic flow and safety of the current transportation system is to apply automation and intelligent control methods to roadside infrastructure and vehicles. Therefore to increase the security of traffic signal and to reduce human efforts we are introducing an Energy-efficient as well as power generating smart traffic signal system through this MINI PROJECT. MATERIALS REQUIRED The following Components are used in this Exhibit: Motor, Buzzer, Battery, LED bulb, Switch, Marker cover, Pen COVER SCIENTIFIC PRINCIPAL INVOLVED: ‘SMART TRAFFIC SYSTEM’ is based on the Principle of Motors and Basic concept of Electricity. CONSTRUCTION AND WORKING: This Project include Five Automation Functions. (1) There are two Buzzers at the ends of U-curve. These two buzzer is connected to battery through switch. The switch is below the road. When vehicle goes, due to pressure the switch gets ON and the Buzzer make sound. (Safety at U-curve) (2) At Zebra-crossing, there are two motors and a red traffic light connected by a Battery. When positive current is passed, the Red LED light glows and the motors rotate. Due to which the Gate attached with Motors fall. When Negative current is flown, the Green LED Bulb glow and the Motors rotate in anti-direction so the Gates get opened. (3) Two Motors are implanted connected with two battery. These Motors are placed on same line so, one will rotate Clockwise and another anti-clockwise. Both are connected with rotors at left and right portions of road. The Rotors will disallow the wrong side of motion of vehicles. (4) There are switch below roads which is connected with roadside light. All the switches are initially OFF. The Led Light Bulb Glows when the switch get pressed when the vehicle pass over it. So only that Lights Get ON which is required for driving. (5) There are rotors below Road which is connected with Turbines. When the Vehicles pass over it, rotors will rotates so will be the turbine which is utilized in producing electricity. (Power generation) ADVANTAGES: i. It will decrease the Accident at U-curve. ii. It will Reduction in Accident at Traffic signal and Zebra crossing iii. Prevention of Wrong Side Driving. iv. Energy- efficient traffic Signal v. Generation of Electricity through traffic vi. It is Low Cost controlling Method.
